Life Is Strange Vol. 2: Waves by Emma Vieceli, Claudia Leonardi and Andrea Izzo
comic-book, review
5/5 stars
Spoilers for the first book — you’ve been warned.
So… Chloe. And… Rachel? The trio that never was — together at last.
And it starts really nicely — Chloe and Rach dating, Rachel doing her insta influencer thing. Chloe working in a car shop and also building cool art out of scrap metal. And Max is trying to live a normal life.
And failing hard. Because she’s wracked with guilt over abandoning Chloe in the past and how that affected her ability to trust people. And about not telling her about her powers. Chloe and Rachel of course notice that Max is hiding something.
And then a mysterious boy appears that people sometimes see and sometimes don’t.
It is again — fantastic. You get a glimpse into a far happier life that Chloe and Rachel could lead. Not without issues, mind. It’s just that they’re not existential ones.
But new mysteries spring up, the two realities seem to be connected at least in some way. And then the shit hits the fan.
Loved it and grabbed the third book right after finishing this one.
