The Naked Sun by Isaac Asimov

book, review, science-fiction

This review was originally posted at Goodreads and imported here later with next to no spell/grammar checking. Warning: as of sometime in 2026, Goodreads hid all their "public" reviews behind a login wall. Fuck the enshittification of Goodreads, fuck Amazon and fuck that cuntiest of billionaires: Jeff Bezos.

5/5 stars

Yeah, wow. Just like The Caves of Steel, this is a fantastic book. It explores humanity on Earth and other worlds, it questions the three laws of robotics and again, it just incredibly well written and thought out.

Interestingly, The Naked Sun feels a little more dated than the first book in the series but it’s still and absolutely wonderful bit of reading.

Hi! I wrote a game! It's an open-world roguelike where you play an addict called Dose Response. You can get it on the game's website (pay what you want!), it's cross-platform, works in the browser and it's open source! If you give it a go, let me know how you liked it, please!
